The Battle Area (バトルエリア, Batoru eria^?), is an area on the Playing Field. It is the area where Digimon enter when moved from the Breeding Area, or are played. Digimon in this area can activate effects, can be affected by other cards, and can be referenced for card effects. Digimon in the battle area can partake in battles and declare attacks.

The Digimon Instances and cards in the Battle Area are known the both players.

What goes into the Battle Area?

• Option cards that specifically state to put them into the Battle Area with their effects.
• Digimon Instances
• Tamer Instances

Whenever a tamer or Digimon is played it is played to the Battle Area. There is no Tamer/Option area on the official playmats.
